Pitch and Matrix are the two most important factors when looking for a sign or comparing quotes between Golden Rule Co. and a competitor. These two variables determine the size of your display as well as the quality of the image and text it is able to produce.

Pitch is the distance from the center of one pixel to the center of the next adjacent pixel. A pixel is a cluster of two or more LED's (light emitting diodes). The closer the pixels, the crisper and more lifelike your image will be. For instance, our sharpest and highest resolution option is 16mm, which means each pixel is a mere 16 millimeters apart (making it the premier sign in the outdoor LED industry). Pitch is very important because for the same display area, the pitch determines the resolution of the display. The pitch of a sign is measured in millimeters. Higher resolution signs will have a smaller, tighter pitch. The more pixels per unit area the better the resolution – a 4’ tall x 8’ long sign which is 34mm pitch will not look as sharp or be the same price as a 4’ tall x 8’ long 17mm sign. The pixels on the 17mm sign are twice as close together as on the 34mm sign.
