Golden Rule Co offers multiple communication options for any sign you choose to purchase. Consult our friendly staff to find out which method of communication will best fit your needs.
Wireless Communication (WCS) is by far the most popular option for sending messages to your sign. We offer three different wireless systems (RF, Ethernet, PLC) for sending messages to your sign. Our secure wireless packages utilize frequency hoping and 128 bit encryption to prevent anyone from tampering with you sign. A WCS gives users the ability to remotely (from within the comfort and safety of your office) program and schedule messages, even from multiple computers on a network if chosen.
Hardwire Communication means just that; there is an actual line (RS232, RS485, Fiber Optic, or Ethernet) between the user’s computer, server or network and the sign. Using a hardwire connection can be a less expensive alternative to purchasing a WCS, unless the hardwire is being trenched long distances, across parking lots, etc... Many clients are now choosing to program their sign by physically going to the sign location and connecting their laptop to a port at the base of the sign. This has become popular because of our scheduling software which allows users to schedule messages literally years in advance.
Phone Line Communication is not the fastest connection, nor the least expensive. Essentially, your computer plugs into the phone line in your office, the sign is then at a different “number”. When you send messages, your computer “calls” the sign and delivers the messages. This communication method generally requires phone line be run to the sign. It is a great option for clients who’s signs are in a remote area or long distances from the controlling PC.
